Over the years Catherine Cooper has worked with around 25 firms in asset management and private banking and so she is very well placed to bring an independent, external perspective to her clients’ business needs.

Fund structures

Much of Catherine’s work involves launches, mergers and closures of funds, or fund restructuring. Here, she works closely with the client, following their product development process, to:

define the business need by talking to staff, and evaluate the options
write a detailed product specification
assess feasibility against financial, investment and distribution criteria
Project manage delivery to time and cost budgets, involving people from: Sales & Marketing; Investment; Legal & Compliance; IT & Operations; Finance

Product strategy

Clients usually have a product strategy in place but may wish to review it in relation to the firm’s investment strengths, distribution channels and profitability. With an external perspective Catherine is well placed to evaluate a fund range and its relative strengths against competitors or to take a fresh look at which funds should be closed.
