Product management
Management of the product portfolio can vary from a review of a whole fund range to tactical tweaking of fund characteristics, for example: changes to investment scope or pricing; updates to the Prospectus; wrappers and savings plans. Catherine can ensure that such changes are managed without hitches and with minimum disruption to clients or the fund .
Competitor, client and market research
Catherine has completed a number of research projects combining desk research with structured telephone interviews, for example research into intermediaries’ views on a firm’s fund pricing. Clients are often much more candid in an interview with an independent consultant than in their regular contact with the firm and the results can usefully reveal sensitivities and business risks.
Organisation of the product function
Having worked with many organisations Catherine has seen how some product departments function better than others – how well their product development process works, how projects are prioritised, and how the department manages conflicting demands from investment and distribution teams.
